Dr. Amir Hessami, Ph.D, P.E., PMP

Amir has over fifteen years of experience in transportation construction and maintenance planning, design, and supervision. He has worked on several TxDOT and NCHRP projects developing practices around Construction Manager-at- Risk Contracting for Highway Projects (NCHPR 10-85), developing cost estimating models for innovative project-delivery methods, and developing best practices for Scope, Cost, and Risk Management on Planned Construction Projects. Amir’s construction management expertise includes developing risk and performance based frameworks for Asset Management.

He has a Ph.D in Civil Engineering and is an Assistant Professor of Construction Engineering and Management at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He is also a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Strategic Management Committee (ABC 10) and a young member of its Maintenance and Operations Management Committee (AHD 10). Amir also has significant project management and design engineering experience, overseeing more than 500 miles of transportation projects.
