The CARIAN team has extensive risk management experience across diverse sectors including Infrastructure, Transit & Transportation, Federal & State agencies, Process, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Higher Education. Our risk management practice has collective experience in designing and implementing risk management programs for capital owner and delivery organizations, conducting scalable risk analysis on projects ranging from a few million to multi-billion programs and conducting risk management training for organizations.

Dr. David Hulett, a CARIAN advisor, is a recognized leader in developing concepts and methods for quantitative project cost and schedule risk analysis and practicing them on large commercial and government projects. Dr. David Hulett has pioneered the Risk Drivers approach to schedule risk and integrated cost and schedule risk analysis. His method has been adopted in risk management tools including Oracle’s Primavera Risk Analysis®, Booz Allen Hamilton for their Polaris® software and by Safran RISK®. He was also a leader in the Project Management Institute (PMI) for incorporating project risk and scheduling standards in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). He was the principal author of two recommended practices: 57R-09 on Integrated Cost-Schedule Risk Analysis in 2011, and 85R-14 Use of Decision Trees in Decision Making in 2014 for the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) International.
